EVGA GTX580 3xSLi - No Longer Stable @ stock volts

2 posts in this topic

First post.

So the title should be fairly descriptive. I got these GTX580s when they were still the best things ever (I still do like them), and they still do pretty well in regards to performance - I have yet to find a game that I cannot max at 1920x1080 with all three cards doing what they do.
That being said, I'm now running into some problems. I never really had these guys at a high OC (790Mhz was my highest), but now I can't run these guys at stock volts and stock clocks without artifacting and subsequent video crashes after about 10 minutes of demanding use (Battlefield 3, Crysis 3, etc.).

I have to raise my voltage all the way up to 1045mV from the stock of 1025mV to get reliable performance at the stock clocks of 772mV.

Are my GPU's just at their end of life‽

Unless I missed something it's only 772 to 790 MHZ OC, why would you call it a HIGH OC? :)

Have you ever manipulated the memory clock before? Have you ever changed the voltage of the card (before encountering the problems)? What is your ASIC quality from (GPU-Z)?
