nice, I guess that much larger OC makes a big difference in some tests.

I hope other members will run the tests too and post the results.

+400MHz over your 3570K isn't much. Anyway, here is the table I worked on with new data to shed some surprising results...

So basically when WhyCry runs his benches on his 3770K with HTT, you will get spanked across the board :P

AIDA64: Intel 2600K Vs 3570K Vs 3770K

Found an article from earlier in the year - source - of a cross-comparison of boards with AIDA64 BUT it was 1.00.1035beta which is quite old, acts a decent guide as I haven't come across another with the CPUs in question. If there are more reliable up-to-date figures in another article, feel free to add to the discussion. I am not stating any the figures here as a matter of fact performance as things stand today, only an indication of the potential differences.

The 3.5GHz (3.9GHz turbo) 22nm 3770K is mostly marginal, upgrading from a 3.4GHz (3.8GHz turbo) 32nm 2600K to 3770K would be a waste of good money and better spent on other components.

The burning question - would there be such small margins with the rest of the CPU benchmarks (only me and WhyCry can find out) but until then we have the table above. It's worth noting in the rest of the review that Cinebench 11.5 rated the 2600K with 7.54pts and 3770K with 7.56pts [source rated the 2600K with 6.93pts and 3770K with 7.89pts which doesn't seem right - I ran it myself at 3.8Ghz and it rated the 2600K at 7.26pts; to even get to 7.85 I had to set it to 4.1GHz. Considering I have 2133MHz RAM and a P67 board I'd consider my setup very consistent to compare against] is within margin of error. Media tests: 2600K was 2.51% slower in MediaEspresso and 10.16% slower in Adobe Lightroom 3.4. Gaming performance was in favour of 2600K by a few percent, you'd never notice such small differences whilst gaming.

Sorry it was posted a bit late to be any use to yourself lol

Omegaa, could you please confirm what speed you had your CPU/RAM clocked at when you posted the results - hopefully it was 4.2GHz which is the same as ZoSo *spooky* ;)

Your latency is impressively low if I suspect you have 2133MHz RAM judging from bandwidth, what RAM modules are you using? Thanks :)

Smith I was only joking, nobody is saying to upgrade from Sandy to Ivy. I was simply saying when WhyCry gets back from his holiday trip and runs the tests he will beat both of us across the board due to him having HTT and Ivy (Unlike my 3570K which lacks HTT). I considered buying the 3770K, but just don't have much use for HTT.

I was just trying to give this thread a feel of friendly competition, not to suggest that you upgrade because WhyCry is going to beat us both with a 3770K. Also who buys a CPU based on AIDA64 benches? haha

Lighten up man :D

I know you were joking ZoSo :) Sorry it appeared I didn't take the banter - I can see how it appeared going straight into 'proof' which kinda makes me look as though I'm on a lost crusade lol. Don't fear doing future community benchmarks cos we all love doing them. Specifying the 2600K was only a starting point of comparison between 32nm and 22nm and not centred around my 2600K which would be sad.

Honestly don't mind a nudge if I went off track and can assure you my SOH remains solidly intact :D

My CPU AES bench value is very low when compared to others posted here...

That looks about right for a C2Q rig and DDR2 800 and I'm excited to see WhyCry's main rig score too. So yall post back your main rigs and I'll replace what I have posted.

WhyCry has some pretty impressive scores for a laptop

I'll second that :) As well as being a mobile gaming dream, I'd also leave it plugged in overnight to run Folding if it keeps cool.

Here are the updated tables formatted if you wish to use them ZoSo and I'll update the table as soon as other scores are posted (how about sticking the table in your first post to make it easier to view/update then I can PM you the image link?) ...

Assassino please join us in this bench "club" and share your results, I don´t want to be in the slower place for longer... Just kidding.

Next time I will put my 2500K in action...

SMiThaYe please change your CPU speed in table from 2.6GHz to 4.6GHz.

Thanks Assassino ;)

You have a good Memory latency for socket 775 system, You have DDR3 or DDR2?

My laptop is a dinossaur in terms of speed, AMD 2GHZ Single core, 1GB RAM and ATI X1100 Card... Tha bad thing is I have to use it everyday because I can´t afford a new Laptop.

its DDR3 but you can afford a new graphics card right :P

I´m thinking between Sapphire 7950 Vapor-X; Gigabyte HD 7950 or Gigabyte GTX 660 TI OC...
